Orlando McLin graduated from the
Phoenix ITT Technical Institute in March 1998 with an associate's degree in
computer-aided drafting technology(CAD).
McLin always knew that he wanted to work on designs. In high school, his strengths were math, science and drafting. He decided
to further his education at ITT Tech.
"I chose to continue my education because I feel that education is something that's needed, and in society today most people
who have an education go further in life," says McLin.
When asked about his experience at ITT Tech, he said, "There were countless times when instructors would say encouraging words
to me that made me want to press on that much more. Every time I went to school it was about learning something or helping
someone."
McLin also enjoyed the smaller classes and diversity of students in his classes. He felt that being around people from
different cultures and ages helped to make his learning experience more rounded. He also enjoyed the year-round classes.
"You go to school all year round and it goes by so fast, before you know it you're graduating," says McLin. "They've [ITT
Tech] really worked hard to offer an educational opportunity like this; giving people their money's worth."
When asked about searching for his first job, McLin said, "ITT Tech really worked hard at assisting me in my job search. They
have lots of contacts with companies and graduates in the field; they really worked to help me get my foot in the door to talk
and interview."
McLin is employed by AT Architects on the architecture resource team. He works on the building design aspects and oversees
consultants in making sure their jobs are done accurately.
